Maharshi Shandilya Pratishthan

We are pleased to present the website of "Maharshi Shandilya Pratishthan, Pune". At the outset, let us mention the great initiative of the present group of trustees who made this website a reality. They all deserve our heartfelt praises.

It is an interesting story to know how and when the origin of the Pratishthan took place. For that, we have to delve into the history of the Chitpawan (Shandilya) Joshi Kulvruttant Samiti, the parent organization of Maharshi Shandilya Pratishthan.

On 20th January, 1974, the "Samiti" was formed under the presidentship of Shri. G.N. Joshi (Abasaheb Joshi-Tokekar). Among its members, Shri. P.K. Joshee was appointed as the secretary. After continuous hard work for 7-8 years, the Samiti published a voluminous book, namely "Chitpawan Joshi Kulvruttant", comprising about 1500 pages.

Many members of the Joshi family generously donated for the printing expenses. Notably, a remarkable donation of ₹1,00,000 was given in 1983 by Shri. Vitthalrao Joshi, mentor of the Shri Baba Maharaj Sahasrabuddhe Memorial Committee, Pune.

The publication of the "Joshi Kulvruttant" took place during a grand ceremony on 28th March, 1982, presided over by Pandit Mahadeoshashtri Joshi and released by Pandit Vidyadhar Gokhale. Following this, the Kulvruttant Samiti was dissolved, leaving a balance of around ₹40,000.
